(Fringe activity)
Shangchuan Island 上川島 is the island on which St. Francis Xavier (1506-1552), founding member of the Society of Jesus, died before he could reach China mainland. The island is a mere 20 kilometers away from the coasts of Taisan City 台山市. In 2006, members ofPSA's Good Shepherd Club initiated a renovation project for the Xavier Tomb Monument and Chapel there.
We take great pleasure to announce that we will have the honour of the company of Fr. Stephen Chow S.J. (周守仁神父) and Fr. Howard Lui S.J. (呂晶器神父) of Macau on this very meaningful trip.
