Noble company with a religious link
The Class of 74 was introduced to Count Alvaro de Marichalar of
Navarre at their monthly dinner gathering.
What makes this guest so special is that he's internationally known as an adventurer holding many world records for
his daring acts, including crossing the Atlantic on a water scooter. He is currently planning a trip from
Shangchuan Island ¤W¤t®q to Japan, also on a water
scooter, covering the waters where St. Francis
Xavier used to travel and perform miracles (St. Francis was said to have tamed the stormy sea and turned sea water
fresh to save lives). Count Alvaro is making the trip to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the birthday of St. Francis.
Why? He is a descendant of the family of the saint! See
